TO CHANGE AND NOT TO CHANGE: WHAT GRIEF DOES TO PEOPLE

aptly shortened as 'tcantc', this is a fallout 4 au that i started ... three years ago, at this point.

i have a lot of thoughts and feelings about fallout and especially fallout 4. many people would give me flak for it but it is my favorite fallout game and i have a lot of complaints that the game feels half-baked and incomplete in a lot of ways, and one of my major focuses is the fact that paladin danse has no shift of personality or dialog if you spare him and make an enemy of the brotherhood in the quest 'blind betrayal.'

this au heavily centers around paladin danse and what it means to be human, or not human, and how he (fails) to cope with the grand revelation that he's a synth. most of what i already have written is primarily about danse and my own character emil :)

the main circulating characters are mostly original characters - danse is the one canon character with strong plot relevance. the others are emil oberto, avery dalca, and mokushi jozu. emil and danse are ex-paladins of the brotherhood; avery is the adoptive parent of mokushi, and the two of them are subsequent generals of the minutemen.

the full stories have not been completed yet (and may never be? it depends on the hyperfocus swing...) but what is complete is hosted here on this site. additionally, i do have a full synopsis of the four main characters' general storylines. emil and danse, and avery and mokushi, have plotlines that intersect at different points and run together in the end. they are paired up; further information can be read by clicking the characters' images.
